Exclusive afternoon Golden Circle with Northern Lights Hunt
Sleep in and meet your private driver to take you on Iceland´s most popular day tour. The golden circle tour is taken by most tourists during their visit to Iceland.
Since this tour is only offered over the cold months please make sure to bring warm clothes.
After meeting your driver you will tour the golden circle. Depending on the chances an when and where to see the aurora borealis later we may alter which way we cover the three main sites.
The first highlight being þingvellir national park . This unesco world heritage site is where tectonic plates meet, or better said, drift apart. At Geysir you can see a few hot springs, with the most famous one being the Geysir itself. While it is dormant his brother Strokkur spouts a fountain of water every 5-10 minutes. At Gullfoss waterfall or the golden waterfall which is the translation of its name you see the river Hvitá ( white river) drop in two steps over 32 meters.
After having seen these major sites and still outside Reykjavik and its city lights, away from light pollution we start our northern lights tour. Please note that they are a natural phenomenon so we cannot always guarantee that you will view northern lights , even experienced tour guides cannot be 100% right. The chances depend on the activity of solar winds as well as cloud coverage.
So we may try to find them at thingvellir national park , Hellisheiði or somewhere else along the way.
