For many people and years a cruise is a dream they do not fulfill until their later years. Just the thought of spending a few weeks on a luxurious liner along the coast of South America or from city to city in the Mediterranean brings up some romantic thoughts.
Find your tours and activities with a local touroperator for exclusive service with a Private Driver - Tailor made Cruise Excursions right from the harbour.
Follow this link and find all our premade torus The grand difference is that our tours are private so you will have your own driver ( or driver guide if you upgrade). This means that he or she will wait for you and make sure that you are back on the ship in time to leave to your next adventure. The atmosphere of such a private tour is less of a guide telling you than a friend showing you around his home country.

Their ships are very different in size, so they do not all dock at the same place. This can be confusing at times when all customers read about is "Cruise port". Usually that word is used for the Skarfabakki pier, where you have a small terminal building and where most large ships stop. Smaller ships often use Miðbakki pier which is downtown right next to Harpa Concert Hall.
Apart from these to there are a few more places which are used such as Korngarður next to Skarfabakki port. This one is used on days where more than one ship arrive and Skarfabkki is busy. A few ships even use the port in Hafnafjörður or Akranes, which are a bit outside of Reykjavik.
To save you some time we have taken together some of the main ships and were they will be docking in Reykjavik 2020. Hopefully the list helps in orienting and finding where you will be.
Please note that some ships may use different piers on different trips such as the AidaLuna.
Ships docking at Skarfabakki:
The cruise summer 2021 in Reykjavik already starts in march with two ships arriving. Both the Magellan and Astoria will be reaching Skarfabakki, as expected. Customers on the Magellan have only one day, so going for a golden circle tour may be the way to go. Passengers on the Astoria have two days, so they can opt to either also see the south shore or the Lava fields of the Reykjanes peninsula and the Blue Lagoon.
In the Month of May the Balmoral will have a short stop in Reykjavik as well as the Celebrity Reflection, The Aidabella and the Asuka II.
In June the high season for cruise ships in Reykjavik starts and the following ships will be there:
Island Princess, Zenith, Celebrity Silhouette, AidaLuna, Norwegian Star, MSC Preziosa, Mein Shiff3, Celebrity Reflection, Carnival Legend, Europa, AidaSol, Vking Sky, Silver Whisper, Mein Schiff 4, Spirit of Discovery, Vasco da Gama, Seabourn Quest, Costa Fortuna, Queen Victoria, Azamara pursuit, Seven Seas Navigator.
Many of them return in July and you will additionally see the following Vessels at the port:
Veendam, Rotterdam, Monarch, Zuiderdam, N.G. Explorer, Artania, Marco Polo, Aurora, AidaCara.
In August we will receive Marella Explorer 2, Queen Mary 2, Nieuw Stantendam, Azamar Pursuit, Celebrity Summit, Boudicca, Brilliance of the Seas, Seabourn Quest, Columbus, Insignia. Apart from the ships returning.
Towards the end of summer in September ships such as MSC Meraviglia and the Azora will visit us for the first time.
In Oktober we will have now new arrivals , only repeated visitors with the Magellan being the last ship.
Korngarður
Next to Skarfabakki we find Korngarður where from June on we will find the Ocean dream, Boudica, Amadea, Columbus, AidaLuna, Vasco da Gama, Black Watch ( not the one from Game of Thrones), Seven Seas Explorer, Astoria, AidaCara, Albatros
Just around the corner is Vatnagarðabakki which will have less visits, from the Astor, N.G. Explorer and the Black Watch.
Miðbakki:
In the city Center next to Harpa concert Hall we find Miðbakki where from May on a few ships will make their stop. Such as the Oceand Diamond, which will be there a total of 15 times over the course of next summer. Other ships will be arrving at Miðbakki pier from June on.
They are usually smaller than the ones we see at Skarfabakki such as the Greg Mortimer, Ocean Atlantic, Silver Cloud, Le Bellto, Fram, Hanseatic Nature , Berlin, RCGS Resolute, Silver Wind N.G. Explorer, Fridtjof Nansen, Star Legend, Scenic Eclipse, World Explorer, Hamburg, Astoria, Ocean Majesty, Expedition, National Geographic Endurance, Bremen.
